Freedom Bound is a mare that we loved a racemare so much that we kept her for her post racing career. She is a big strong daughter of Hard Spun that checked every box to be a nice potential broodmare.

1. Freedom Bound is by Hard Spun. Daughters of Hard Spun are in high demand as those daughters have produced all sorts of stakes horses including Grade 1 winners in America, Europe, and Japan. In the US superstar Good Magic is out of a Hard Spun mare.

2. Freedom Bound had her first foal this March by Cairo Prince. We chose Cairo Prince for a few reasons. Chief among them is that he is a tremendous value. He was named on Paulick Reports all Value Sire list this year. Cairo Prince yearlings averaged just over $53,000 at sales in 2023 and he ended the year as the #26 stallion nationally, ahead of sires like Liam’s Map ($40k), War Front ($100k), Medaglia d’Oro ($75k), etc.

3. Freedom’s Cairo Prince foal is getting rave reviews on the farm and we think is a tremendous sale prospect. Also, first foals are notorious for being a little undersized and are rarely a mare’s best foal…and if that’s the case then Freedom has a bright future, because there is nothing undersized on her first foal. Her son by Cairo Prince is a big strong baby that certainly looks the part.

4. Freedom Bound’s full sister, She’s so Special, is a stakes winner that earned almost $200k. She sold for $250,000 at auction and recently had a foal by one of the top young sires in Australia, Stay Inside.
